Tyler Russell HSTyler Russell, General Manager

School/College/University: North Carolina State University

Experience: Tyler is entering his fifth season as a member of the Steamers organization. He started out with the team during the 2012 season as a part time game day operations volunteer. Tyler returned for the 2013 season as the Director of Game Day Operations. He then went on to graduate from NC State University with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Sport Management, and a minor in Business Administration. After completing his degree, Tyler returned to the Steamers to serve as the Assistant General Manager for the 2014 season. Following that summer, he was appointed to the General Manager position. The 2015 season was an exciting first year at the helm for Tyler, which culminated in the Steamers bringing home their third Petitt Cup Championship in franchise history. Tyler is now entering his second season as the Steamers’ general manager.


Jackson Kelly, Director of Marketing and Promotions

School/College/University: Old Dominion University

FullSizeRenderExperience: Jackson is in his first season with the Steamers as the Director of Marketing and Promotions.  He is a graduate of Old Dominion University (VA) where he earned his degree in Sport Management in 2015. Kelly’s experience at ODU including three years as a student manager for the baseball team and an athletic event volunteer for numerous baseball, football, soccer, basketball and lacrosse games as well as FCS playoff games and Conference USA and NCAA tournament games.  Prior to his time at ODU, Jackson also attended East Carolina University, where he worked as a student manager for the men’s basketball team.

After graduating, Jackson worked as a substitute teacher in Virginia Beach while also coaching boy’s basketball at Corporate Landing Middle School.

Chris Chris Lehman HSLehman, Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations

School/College/University: North Carolina State University

Experience: Chris is spending his second summer as the broadcaster and Director of Media Relations for the Steamers after graduating from NC State with a bachelor’s degree in communication with a minor in journalism. While at NC State, Lehman had the opportunity to act as a color commentator for several NCSU Division 1 Men’s and Women’s Soccer, Baseball and Softball broadcasts on ESPN3.  Chris also served as a play-by-play announcer and color commentator for the NC State club hockey team on the campus cable sports channel, Wolfpack Sports Television. He also produced and hosted Pulse of the Pack, a round table style sports radio show on WKNC 88.1 FM, NC State’s student-run radio station.

Away from NC State, Chris worked in a variety of roles for the Durham Bulls live television broadcasts during the 2011-2013 seasons, doing everything from directing and producing to camera work.  He also writes for a local Raleigh sports blog, DNA of Sports, which focuses on Triangle area sports interest stories.


Logan Sims, Director of  Gameday Operations

School/College/University: North Carolina State University

Experience: Logan joins the Steamers for his first summer with the team. While at NC State, he served as a student manager for the baseball team. Logan also works for Pack TV, a student-run sports channel on campus cable. With Pack TV, he serves as an on-air personality and director for productions of NCAA D-1 men’s and women’s soccer and softball, as well as club and intramural sports.

Following the season, Logan will return to NC State for his senior year. He will graduate in December with a bachelor’s degree in sport management and minors in journalism and business administration.
