Wolverines Claw into Edenton

Wolverines Claw into Edenton

The Steamers have added their final roster additions for the 2019 season as they have signed three Michigan Wolverine pitchers.

Isaiah Paige, Blake Beers and Walker Cleveland will all be wearing the Teal and Black. The trio will help bolster the team's pitching depth.

Paige, a 6'1 200-pound redshirt sophomore, is someone who provides flexibility for head coach Russ Burroughs.

"Isaiah has impressed with Michigan this season. He has the ability to be a long reliver for us or start if called upon. He has impressive control for such a young arm. When he gets down here, he is going to continue to grow and we can help him develop into a top of the rotation arm," said Burroughs.

The Diamond Bar, CA native has pitched to a 2.17 ERA in 37.1 innings. The right-hander has also only walked six batters while striking out 18.

Beers, a 6'4 215-pound sophomore has pitched primarily out of the bullpen for Michigan.

"We expect Blake to be an asset for us in any role we put him in. Whether it be in long relief or late in a ballgame, we know he will be adaptable and help contribute to our team," said Burroughs

Stemming from Manhattan Beach, CA, the right-hander has given up just one run in his previous six outings.

Cleveland, a 6'2 145-pound freshman, has posted a 3.33 ERA in 24.1 innings pitched.

"Walker is a crafty lefty who won't try and do too much. He knows how to paint the corners and keep hitters off balance. He is another pitcher who can provide length from our bullpen," said Burroughs.

The Suwanee, GA product earned his first career win against Western Michigan after 4.2 scoreless innings of relief on March 19th.
