The Edenton Steamers continued their winning ways by sweeping the Wilson Tobs in a doubleheader Wednesday night from Historic Hicks Field.

In game one, Ian Walters delivered a walk-off, two-run homerun in the bottom of the 7th as the Clams won, 5-3.

Walters leads the CPL with six home runs this season and has 14 RBI which is good for fifth in the league. The Southern Illinois product finished 3-for-4, his third three-hit performance of the season.

Ian Fitzgerald got the start and went five strong innings, allowing two earned runs and striking out six.

Wilson did not go away easily, trailing 2-1 in the sixth, Michael Calamari hit a game-tying homerun off of CJ Dornak.

Grant Crosby tossed a scoreless 7th and earned his second win in relief.

Tyler Hopman got the nod in game 2 and the redshirt-junior turned in his best performance of the season.

The New Jersey native stifled the Tobs through seven one hit innings as he went the distance and tossed a complete game shutout.

The offense provided immediate support with a three-run first inning. Quincy Hamilton hit a three-run homerun to right-field in the opening frame, his first of two home runs in game two.

The Wright State product drove in five of the six runs scored by Edenton. He has four long balls in his last four games and has driven in 11 runs over that span.

The Clams have hit a homerun in eight straight games and are now 3-1 in doubleheaders this season.

Edenton moved into 2nd place with the sweep and sit 1.5 games behind Wilson.

Justin Drpich's seven game hit streak and eleven game on base streak was snapped in game two.

Up next, the Teal and Black look to win their sixth game in a row when they welcome in the Peninsula Pilots Thursday night at Historic Hicks Field.
