Steamers Welcome New General Manager

Edenton Steamers welcome their new General Manager, Lauren Baker. Lauren is a native of Bertie County and graduated from Lawrence Academy where she was named Female Athlete of the Year two times and made All-State in Softball three years in a row. She played college softball at NCAA Division II University of North Carolina at Pembroke for two years and finished her career at NAIA / NCCAA Division I school Columbia International University, SC. Lauren was named All-Region as a Junior and a Senior. She was named to the World Series All-Tournament team in 2022. She was also the recipient of the National Deb Thompson Award, which is the highest award given to a college softball player by the NCCAA. Lauren was also recognized as the CIU Female Athlete of the Year in 2023 and completed her career at CIU in the record books as the all-time leader in Career Batting Average and Career Slugging Percentage. She is listed in the school's top ten all-time in hits, triples, home runs, on base percentage, and RBIs.  

Lauren completed her B.S. degree in Sports Management and Business from CIU. She then served as the Graduate Assistant Softball Coach for Chowan University in 2023-24 where she will be receiving her master's degree in organizational leadership in December.
